Show Me the Money

Well, the verdict is in and it is....Not Pregnant. Aunt Flo was just running 6 days behind schedule. I admit, I'm a little disappointed. But not terribly surprised. July has been a crap month. I'd like to return it, please.

So! *brisk clap* On to something more fun! Let's have a contest! I won Alice's Pay it Forward contest and she sent me a lovely gift, which I promise to post pictures of next week. So I will host a Pay it Forward contest. It will be open from now until Monday, August 4th, because everybody's blogs have seemed really slow lately. In order to qualify, leave a comment and tell me something funny that has happened to you recently. I need some help getting through the rest of July. Winner will be chosen randomly, of course.

I'm sorry July's been a crappy month for you. I hope August goes better.

I have nothing really funny to tell you. I am in a CRAP mood today (have been all work, actually) and work is even CRAPPIER, and basically I have Monday off and I'm not reminding anyone because I don't want to deal with all their last-minute work projects. AM MEAN AND THEY CAN JUST SUCK IT.

I know EXACTLY how you feel. I'm sneaking out of here right now and not even mentioning that I'm leaving for the day!

Oh Shelly, I'm sorry. It really is cruel how the PMS symptoms can mimic pregnancy.

July has been crap all around, I couldn't agree more. ON TO AUGUST!! :)

Geez, are none of us funny this month or what? I'm wracking my brain for something amusing, but I'm coming up short. I'm ready for August.

I just finished writing a blog entry about my most recent most embarassing moment. Funny to me - and hopefully to anyone who stumbles across it.

My second most recent embarassing moment happened a few weeks before my birthday.....when I realized that I was actually a year younger than I thought I was all year long. So on my birthday I got to turn a year younger than I anticpated!

July has had it's ups and downs for me.

This was a funny moment that happened to me...I didn't think it was funny but the rest of the family thought it was hilarious.

I was slouched on the couch reading, oblivious to everything, including the 2 cats, one at either end of the sofa. They were apparently eyeing each other for some time over my head. DH and the boys watched in anticipation as both cats readied themselves and then at the same time leap at one another. Only my head was in the way, so I got catslapped upside both sides of my head at once.

Um, something funny . . . nope. Nothing here. But 4 of my 5 kids start school in 10 days. The 5th has one more year at home and she is royally miffed that she doesn't get to ride the school bus yet.

hope life turns up for you and august is better.

something funny....many funny things happened today as i had a garage sale....oh my! the best one i heard was regarding brita water filters in an unopened box..."how many filters are there?" and "these are new filters"?

i wanted to reply with, "look at the !*@* box...it tells you how many and then i wanted to say, yeah, no, i used them and i have a sealing machine inside that resealed them so i could make a couple bucks off of you....geeze!

Enter me in your contest-

Funny/stupid thing that happened to me this month:

I woke up last Monday to my mother calling me a the butt-crack of dawn to tell me something that could have waited until way later. I get up and as I am talking to her, stick a cold, leftover cup of coffee from the carafe into the microwave to warm and wake me up. I stood and talked to her, then as the beep went off, I got off the phone, opened the microwave door, put my cell phone in, took the coffee out and closed the door.

I couldn't find my cell phone for HOURS. I could kind of hear it when I had my hubby call it, but could never find it fast enough. I finally found it later that day when I made popcorn for the kid's snack.

Big. Fat. Duh.

Just happened 10 minutes ago - the asscat tried to jump up onto the table and my husband was satnding next to the table and somehow the cat (being an ass) jumped up the leg of my husband's shorts. It was hilarious (though you probably had to be there)

My husband and I were thrilled that we found pretty much unworn kids' cleats at our church's rummage sale for $0.75. We bought them. My son had soccer camp (first time he's ever played) this week. My husband took him Monday. I took him Tuesday (when I was off work) and never put the cleats on him. Because they were -- literally -- two left feet. No wonder the poor kid had a hard time running the day before. He never complained though!

Okay. Thank you for mentioning Aunt Flo. Did you ever notice that Bloggers NEVER talk about getting their period. Why is that? I think we need a national bitch about our period blog day.

That's all I got. But I would like a prize too. July is almost over, hang in there.

Funny thing? I have a two year old. Lots of things are funny.

But the best was tonight. When my MOTHER was drunk dialing me at work because they are on vacation at a resort that has free happy hour. Yikes.

Thanks Tessie - yes, that really is unfair. And stupid. They should be ENTIRELY different.

Shelly said...

Hi jess and welcome! You are entered into the contest.

Shelly said...

Shelly - I blame July. For everything.

Shelly said...

Hey Chraycee and welcome! Your birthday thing is hilarious and totally something I would have done! Thanks for the laugh!

Shelly said...

stacey - That is an awesome cat story! Welcome!

Shelly said...

meredith - Welcome! I can just imagine your youngest being pissed to be left at home while the others are off having fun. That's great!

Shelly said...

Alice - thanks sweetie. Yep, aunt flo has always sucked, always will. one of the constants of the universe.

Shelly said...

yaya's mom - welcome! Garage sales are always good for a laugh. My mother used to try to sell her junk at garage sales until I finally explained to her that she uses things up. Which is good, you just can't expect people to buy them after you've used them up.

Shelly said...

adriane - Welcome! Of course you're entered! The cell phone in the microwave story is great. That is totally something I would do!

Shelly said...

gina - I used to have a cat who did that exact same thing! How funny!

Shelly said...

Hi Michelle and welcome! Two left feet, huh? That won't do him much good. Very funny!

Shelly said...

Yes, leanne, I have noticed that blogger never talk about getting their periods. And in fact, I feel squirrely talking about mine. But how else was I going to let everyone know that I knew I wasn't pregnant because my period had started?! So I just bit the bullet and said it.

Shelly said...

hangel - I think I would be afraid to hear what my mother would have to say drunk. heh.
