Heh. Well, I'm still glad that I got that rant out of my system on Thursday. Posting that allowed me to go back and get that project on track. It is now done and waiting on review, which I hope will be positive. For the most part, I really like my job and I do a very good job here. It's just that sometimes I get frustrated and writing about it helps.

Anyway, I hope you all had a great weekend! The weather here was gorgeous! We even managed to get outside and enjoy it both days this weekend. On Saturday, we prepared two flower beds and on Sunday, we planted some flowers in each of the beds. I'm so excited and can't wait to see all the bright, happy flowers in a few months. The kids loved picking out the flowers (things they did not love: helping to prep the flower beds!). I'll try to remember to take pictures to show you guys when the flowers start to bloom!

So tell me: what did you do over the weekend?

Nothing makes me happier than planting flowers and enjoying them later in the spring/summer. Sadly, I won't be doing much of that this year (damn this no job thing!) but hopefully I did enough last year that it won't be bad. Although I always buy too much and really enjoy the planting for the first hour or two, then I'm done and just want to stick everything in the ground and be finished. I'm such a slacker gardener.

Shelly - HAHAHA!! I will admit that the "plant spacing" guidelines were pretty much ignored in favor of the "throw and go" system after the first flower bed!

Also worked on flower beds and got a kid off of training wheels. I'm a little late on that front, but we live on a busy road, so taking the kids bike riding involves a lot of effort loading and unloading bikes and driving to another location. I'm just glad they won't have to be like Phoebe and learn to ride as an adult.

I supervised the painting of Shortman's bedroom to a neutral color.

Bah.

Fiona - Oh, that sounds fun! And yay for no more training wheels! I'm sure she was excited! I totally understand what you mean about loading them up and taking them someplace else to ride - we don't have anyplace for the kids to ride, either. They ride bikes at their grandparents' house!

Hot - Awww...that sounds sad. Sorry!

We visited my parents one more time before the baby comes. It snowed! I've never seen so much snow in TX in my whole life. Thankfully it melted instantly and we are now having nice spring weather again. :)

Oh yeah, I totally want to plant flowers but am too lazy to find out what would grow well and what kind of care it needs, etc.

Nicole - I know, I can't believe the amount of snow you guys have gotten this year!

As for the flowers, we just went to Wal-Mart and picked out stuff we thought was pretty! Then, if it said it needed "full sun", we put it in the sunny flower bed and if it said shade, we planted it in the flower bed between the trees, which is more shady. Torsten and I were in DC with my parents and the weather was gorgeous and it was generally lovely and perfect. Of course now I'm still in DC but my parents are back in North Carolina and Torsten is back in Denver and the weather has taken a turn for the worse. But still.

Jess - well, it sounds like you had a lovely weekend at least!

Alice - I know - last weekend's weather was SUCH a tease! It's been cold and rainy all week and they're calling for temps in the 50's this weekend! NO FAIR!
