Need help
If I want high-quality, durable polarized sunglasses without paying a really exorbitant price, what brand should I look at? I want something fashionable, but I don't like the bug-eye, huge trend that's popular right now. My last pair (that broke last weekend, RIP beloved sunglasses! was a pair of Fossil's that I bought about 4 years ago, so you can tell that I don't lose them or break them until they wear out from old age. So I don't mind paying more than $10 at Wa!-Mart. I get migraines, so I'm way more concerned with blocking light than I am with saving money or looking good. I'm not prepared to pay a mortgage amount, though, of course. Any brand or store suggestions welcome!

oh man, i've got NOTHING. i lose/break/ruin sunglasses with astonishing frequency, thus i will only buy target / cvs level cheapo ones.
Alice - I totally understand, dude. If I did, I would only buy cheap ones, too. It's only because I keep them forever that I'm willing to pay a little more, but I do want quality for my money, not just some stupid brand name.
I'm not an expensive sunglass person b/c I lose them/step on them too often.
BUT, my hubby has been very happy with his Maui Jims. I know they make women's styles, too. I did have a pair once (I got for free) but I lost them (in Maui actually). I loved them b/c they did wonders to cut the glare (my eyes are really sensitive to sun if I am wearing my contacts, which I do 99% of the time) and they were really lightweight/comfy.
They aren't cheap though. Hubby bought his last pair on eBay, they were a "display" pair and about half price. Ended up being fine.

Shelly - I'm dying over the irony that you lost your Maui Jim's in Maui. That is too much. I have a pair of Maui Jim prescription sunglasses. They are fabulous. I almost never wear them, though, because I wear my contacts 99.99% of the time. I'd love to have a pair of Maui Jim's for everyday wear, but they are pretty far out of my price range at this time (unless I seriously re-evaluate). Although Ebay is a good option that I hadn't thought about.
I'm with Alice, although, it's not ME breaking my sunglasses, it's the two little people whose grubby hands find their way into my purse to destroy my things! I think my last pair came from Jim as a stocking stuffer, from New York and Co. So prob'ly about ten bucks, and I like them fine. They'll surely be pushing daisies by summer, though.

Torsten has Oakleys that he's had for years, and he loves them. For Christmas he gave me a pair and I live mine too. They fit so perfectly. At first they're a little snug but then they stretch to accommodate your specific head shape, which is awesome. The ones I have retail for like $170 but Torsten managed to find them on buy.com for $90. For high-quality sunglasses that doesn't seem TOO terrible to me. But I am also very careful with mine and always keep them in their hard case when I'm not wearing them and so on.

I second Jess. Kevin loves his Oakleys.
I usually use regular glasses frames & have the lenses tinted dark as dark can get.
My Ann Taylor sunglasses BROKE on Friday & it was because they were flawed so can't recommend them in good conscience.
